About Me
THE STORY BEHIND THE MAN:
Herkie is the man behind the keys of the Main Avenue Band. A well experienced and polished keyboard player with 15 years of performance record behind him. This musician is able to manipulate the synthesizers extremely well and very adept in music sequencing. His effort has made him quite a bit of a maestro on the instrument. He plays the keyboard with style and this makes the audience appreciate his deftness and fine arrangements. Twice an awardee as Best Keyboard Player in the UAE, his influences are Mainstream jazz, Pop, Soul and Blues, Techno and Disco, Rock and Alternative, Standard and Classical music.
Other than music, he is also proficient in Literary Composistions and Visual Arts. He also poses a strong background in computers in applications such as Adobe PageMaker, PhotoShop and ImageReady, Microsoft Excel and CorelDraw, and HTML programming. Whenever he is free, he either paints, make a poem and some write-ups or designing a website. He also composes songs and arranges some musical pieces. But all these were not just some hobby to spend his spare time, he uses these talents to earn a living as well by designing business logos, conceptualizing artistic presentations, interior decorations, making native jewelries and even selling his own works of art like oil paintings and pastel drawings. Aside from these, he arranges music for performers, MIDI sequencing for musicians, making advertising jingles for businesses and musical scoring for choirs. Once in a while, he contributes his poems and essays to a local newspaper. At present, he is currently working on a science-fiction novel entitled “The Final War.”
Life is an endless learning and knowledge evolves as he always says. Herkie stands up on what he believes in and pushes himself harder to achieve a difference in life, carrying his ideals and principles that are the driving force to make him a better man.
